Parliament Speaker Meets UAE Counterpart in Vienna

On the sidelines of his participation in the work of the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in the Austrian capital Vienna, Parliament Speaker Hanafi Jabali met with Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates President of the Arab Geopolitical Group Saqr Ghobash.

At the beginning of the meeting, Jabali confirmed the solid and historical relations that bind the two countries. He noted the aspiration to strengthen Egyptian-Emirati parliamentary relations, and intensify coordination and consultation between the Egyptian Parliament and the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) in international parliamentary forums, to serve the interests of the two countries, and reflect their important role regionally and globally.

At the regional level, the parliament speaker stressed that Gulf security is a red line for Egypt, stressing the importance of continuity of consultation and coordination between the two countries, to support regional security and stability, especially in light of regional developments taking place in the region.

He confirmed Egypt's rejection of attempts to prejudice the freedom of navigation in the Gulf, as well as Egypt's rejection of regional interference in Arab affairs.

For his part, Ghobash praised the strong relations that unite Egypt and the UAE at all levels, especially at the parliamentary level, praising the level of coordination between the two countries in various fields, and in all regional and international forums.
