Paramount+ revealed the first look at the next installment of Blumhouse’s Paranormal Activity franchise, "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin", which is set to premiere on October 29.

The new movie stars Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, and Henry Ayers-Brown.

William Eubank directs the movie from a screenplay by Christopher Landon. Producers include Blum and Peli, with EPs Landon, Steven Schneider, and Jenny Hinkey.

"Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin"  is a throwback to its found-footage origins as well as goes back to Puritan times.

The first movie in the franchise, directed by Oren Peli, was originally screened at Screamfest Horror Film Festival in 2007 and was spotted by a CAA rep who quickly signed the director.

They sent DVDs out and eventually got the attention of Jason Blum, who worked with the director to re-edit the film and submit it to Sundance. DreamWorks’ then-bosses Adam Goodman, Stacey Snider, and Steven Spielberg saw the movie and acquired it when they were at Paramount, buying domestic rights for $350,000.

The first movie allocated over $193M worldwide, spawning into a seven movie franchise with six of them making over $890M worldwide.
