President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, praised the role played by Egypt, especially the efforts of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at all Arab and international levels, in support of the Palestinian cause.
During a meeting today, Wednesday, with the Egyptian Ambassador to Palestine, Tariq Tayel, both officials discussed the latest political developments in the region and a number of files of common interest, The Palestinian News Agency reported.
Tayel stressed the priority that the Egyptian political leadership attaches to the Palestinian cause, and the implementation of the two-state solution based on the principles of international legitimacy.
He also reviewed the Egyptian efforts in a number of key files, including efforts to revive the peace process.
The ambassador touched on issues related to cooperation in all fields, especially with regard to the reconstruction of Gaza Strip.
On his part, Fattouh praised the relations between the two countries and peoples, and stressed the keenness to strengthen them to serve the common ties as well as Arab issues.
