Palestine said on Saturday it reported 382 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total number of registered cases to 12,809.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that four people died of the virus, raising the deaths since March 5 to 77.

Meanwhile, the ministry reported that more than 3,741 cases have been recovered, leaving under medical observation 8,991 active cases.

In total, there are currently 15 patients in intensive care units, including 3 who are attached to respirators.

Kamal al-Shakhra, spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, told reporters that the rate of disease contracting is expected to slow in the coming days, after a spike before the new restrictions on travel and weekend lockdown.

The Palestinian government urged people to devote themselves to public health programs, avoid crowds, follow social distancing rules, and restrict their movement to prevent a new increase in infections with COVID-19.
