Researchers revealed that lack of nutrients might be a hidden cause of digestive problems that even doctors sometimes overlook.

A study published by medical journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings said that doctors usually observe thinness or unexplained weight loss to diagnose Indigestion.

"Sometime patients do not lose weight and some of them are overweight," Dr. Joseph Murray, a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota said. "However, they complain of digestive irritability."

He added that deficiency of Vitamin D, iron and zinc is the cause behind such health problems. This deficiency leads to fatigue, sleepiness and laziness.

"A blood test can help in diagnosing patients; if the test is positive, then a person should see a gastroenterologist," Murray explained.
