On Saturday, the head of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II condemned the heinous Israeli attacks on al-Quds (East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the church called all parties to go to the negotiating table to stem the bloodshed.

It also hailed the key role played by Egypt in supporting the Palestinians, especially opening Egyptian hospitals for treating those injured in the Gaza Strip, the statement read.
