Just 13 new cases of coronavirus have been identified in South Korea, giving hope that a cluster of new cases linked to nightclubs has been handled.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 11,050 cases in South Korea and 262 deaths in total.

The agency did not know if the 13 new cases were related to the nightclub outbreak which was related to more than 150 confirmed cases.

Police were forced to intervene at a number of protests in many European cities when thousands of people gathered to protest measures placed in place to fight the spread of coronavirus, which has now killed over 300,000 people.

Tear gas was used on Polish demonstrators and arrests were made at a rally in Hyde Park, London. A number of events in German cities had to be policed by officials, seeking to ensure that social distancing steps were followed.

Protestors are offended by limitations that have destroyed economies, and they are considered to limit freedoms. In some cases myths of conspiracy and vaccine beliefs have been aired.

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the government will call for another month's extension of the state of emergency as the country tries to phase out travel restrictions in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

On May 24, the state of emergency was scheduled to expire.

Spain reported another 102 deaths on Saturday in 24 hours, a slight increase from the previous day but very low compared to the daily deaths reported just a few weeks ago.

More than 500 new cases of the virus were registered in the country for a total of 230,698 confirmed coronavirus cases and 27,563 deaths in Spain.
