On the sidelines of the 28th International holy Quran Competition for Muslims, Mourad Gatin, Director of Cultural Centers in Egypt, met with the Russian contestants at the headquarters of the Russian House in Dokki, Cairo.

During the meeting, Gatin and the Russian contestants have hailed the role played by Egypt in spreading moderate Islam in the face of extremist thoughts.

The 28th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslims is currently held with the participation of 74 Quran reciters and 12 members of the jury from different countries, including Egypt, soviet former states, and the Federation of Russia.

It’s worth noting that the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia welcomed Egypt’s Ministry of Endowments’ idea of translating the Jumma speech into the Russian language as well as holding seminars and workshops for training the Russian Imams in collaboration with the Egyptian Islamic institutions.
