Official: Tunisia on The Point of The Fourth Wave of Coronavirus

Feisal bin Salih, Director-General of the Ministry of Health in Tunisia, said that the epidemical situation in the country is still very dangerous due to registering a death toll of more than 50 deaths daily along with 600 confirmed cases are still in the intensive care units across the country.

Bin Salih told the  Tunisian official news agency that recording some health situation improvement did not reduce the high risks.

He pointed out the health situation is still registering a rise in the daily death toll and cases admitted to the intensive care units.

He added over receiving a new shipment of the anti-Corona vaccines in Tunis Carthage airport today, that the country should deduce lessons from the first, second, and third wave of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19).

He affirmed that the Ministry of Health in Tunisia gets ready to confront the fourth wave of the COVID-19 that may hit Tunisia later this year.

Bin Salih revealed that the anti-Corona vaccine gives immunity against the virus throughout eight months.

He indicated that some scientific resumptions talk about the third dose of the vaccine for some sorts of vaccination that are limited to one or two doses.

He assured that the Ministry of Health will handle all developments related to vaccines and wait for the results of the scientific studies on the effectiveness of vaccination and its methods.

The Tunisian official affirmed the capability of the country to carry out the campaign of vaccination launched on March 13.

It is worth noting that more than one million the Tunisian national have been vaccinated so far, among them 275 thousand received the second dose.

On the other hand, Fawzy Mahdi, Minister of Health in Tunisia warns that the fourth wave of the COVID-19     is expected to reach the country on June 14.

He stressed that Tunisia like the other countries in the world is about to be invaded by the fourth wave of COVID-19 as a result of mutations of the deadly virus that make it more harmful.
