Noureddine Sati.. 1st Sudanese Ambassador to US for Decades

The US Department of State welcomed on Saturday the new Sudanese Ambassador to Washington DC Noureddine Sati, as the first Sudanese Ambassador to the US in almost 25 years.

The State Department expressed its aspirations for progress in relations between the two countries.

On his part, Sati affirmed that his country seeks normal relations with its regional surroundings and to restore its relations with the countries of the world.

*Sati is a veteran diplomat who served as Sudan’s ambassador to Paris in the early 1990s.

*He worked in UN peacekeeping missions in Congo and Rwanda.

*He led the UN peacekeeping mission in Burundi, as well as taking over various positions at UNESCO and its offices abroad.

*He worked as an advisor for the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in Geneva and the Crisis Management Organization in Helsinki, and Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington.

*Sati has published several books, foremost of which, "The Powerful Disability, Rebels - My Experience in Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping".
