Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of North Korea, showed his sympathy, on Friday, to US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, wishing them a speedy recovery after COVID-19 diagnoses.

“The leader sincerely hoped that they would recover as soon as possible. He hoped they would surely overcome it,”  the Korean Central News Agency reported.

“He sent warm greetings to them."

Back in 2017, after carrying out a series of high-profile weapons tests aimed at acquiring the ability to launch nuclear strikes on the U.S. mainland, Kim and Trump exchanged violent threats of destruction and bad insults.

Trump mentioned that he would rain “fire and fury” on North Korea deriding Kim as “little rocket man” on a suicide mission, on the other hand, the latter responded he would “tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire.”

Later in 2018, the Leader of North Korea reached out to Trump for talks on the fate of his advancing nuclear arsenal which was the beginning of their civil relationship.

Before the nuclear talks reached a political deadlock, Trump stated that the two presidents “are in good terms.”

The North Korea Leader, in a letter to Trump, called the U.S. president “Your excellency” and said he believed the “deep and special friendship between us will work as a magical force,” according to journalist Bob Woodward's recently published book “Rage.”
