North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered his military to be on alert, allowing it to immediately deploy nuclear war deterrents, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported Thursday.
The leader of the isolated communist country said that his country was ready for any military clash with the United States, while efforts to rapprochement between the two countries faltered.
The South Korean news agency added that Kim warned the government of South Korean President Yoon Sokyol and his army of annihilation if they made any "dangerous" attempts.
North Korea has conducted a record number of missile tests this year, including its largest ICBM, and there are fears it may be preparing to test a nuclear weapon for the first time since 2017.
