Writer-Director James Gunn revealed Thursday on Twitter the new poster for the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe standalone sequel, "The Suicide Squad".

Gunn also revealed that the first trailer of the movie is set to drop later on Friday along with a picture of the red trailer introduction card that signals content for mature audiences.

"The Suicide Squad" is not a reboot or sequel to the last movie.
The upcoming movie will be an R-rating movie that will feature Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, American actor and former WWE wrestler John Cena as the Peacemaker, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
In addition, there is also a spin-off TV series focusing on Cena’s Peacemaker character that will debut on HBO Max in January 2022.
"The Suicide Squad" is scheduled for a joint release in cinemas and on HBO Max, on August 6.
