Netflix dropped Tuesday the first trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal‘s new movie “The Guilty”, an English-language spin on Gustav Möller’s hit Danish thriller from 2018.

Plot details about the movie are being kept under wraps for now.

The movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua and penned by the “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto, which is produced by Gyllenhaal after he acquired the rights to the 2018 Danish movie of the same name.

The 2018 movie centered around an emergency services dispatcher and a former police officer who answered an emergency call from a woman who’s been kidnapped. When the line suddenly goes dead, he sets out to locate the victim before it is too late.

The remake also stars Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, Paul Dano, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Bill Burr, Beau Knapp, and others.

“The Guilty” will come to streaming on October 1st after one week of a limited theatrical rollout.
