NATO: 2030 Strategy Contributes to Strengthen Role of Alliance on International Arena

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) welcomed the new strategy adopted by the alliance until 2030.

He pointed out that the new strategy contributes to strengthening the alliance's role in the international arena over the period to come amid a very turbulent world.

Stoltenberg affirmed that during a news conference at the conclusion of NATO's two-day summit held in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium, today, that the allies showed again that they can consent to face the basic challenges, especially those related to outside threats.

The General-Secretary of NATO indicated that the member-states agreed on increasing investment and funneling more funds in military and civil budgets to upgrade the infrastructure.

He announced that the allies pledged to add new concepts to their policies such as fighting climate change as they decide to join the world target to create a free planet of carbon dioxide (CO2) by 2050.

Stoltenberg welcomed the consent of the allies to deal with China as a partner and competitor at the same time.

He revealed that the members of the organization in the end consented to new concepts towards China as they want to conduct a constructive dialog with the Asian giant.

He assured that the Joe Biden admiration handles matter with the allies in a different matter of its precedent one under Donald Trump but he stressed that institutions are more important than persons.

Stoltenberg went on to say the allies deduced lessons from the past few years and reached a positive result that means to remain together in the dire times when doubt limitless grows.

It is worth noting that the last NATO summit revives the rapprochement between the United States of America (USA) and its allies in Europe after a period of tension during Trump's presidency.

The organization seeks to direct a decisive message to Russia.

It also revises the strategic concept of the organization to make it ready to face new challenges in space and to cope with the extending hegemony of China.
