Myanmar's President Expresses Appreciation for Sisi, Hails Ties

Myanmar's President Win Myint expressed his appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, lauding his countries' relations with Egypt, dating back to the 50s.

Myint's remarks came during his meeting with Egypt's Ambassador in Naypyitaw Sherif el Lithy after he had presented his credentials as an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary for Egypt, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The Burmese president expressed his interest in boosting cooperation with Egypt in all fields.

Meanwhile, Lithy congratulated the president for his party's winning of the majority at the 2020 general election, held in November.

The ambassador wished for more remarkable progress in the bilateral ties in all domains, particularly in agriculture, trade, investment, and tourism.
