Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) announced that the Children University is scheduled to commence its academic activities starting August 15 until September 15.

Ahmed Tolba, vice president of MUST, said that the university is ready to receive 108 students from the ages of 9 years to 15 years.

He added that those students will gain an insight into university life by introducing them to students, staff and graduates who will explain what university life entails, show children that it is a welcoming, accessible and exciting environment and importantly give children aspirations for their own future.

This will be achieved through the Children’s University program in addition to using profiles of key inpiduals, video clips and photographs and stimulating facts about different Egyptian Universities and their many achievements.

“They also will be able to both demonstrate their understanding and mastery of essential knowledge and skills, and also through being actively involved in solving problems and producing quality work.” He noted.

Tolba pointed out that the Children’s University is an educational project which is increasingly wide spreading all over the world.

He added that it aims also to discover talents at an early age and guide the gifted kids to the right track. The program includes a number of faculties like: Faculty of Medicine, Agriculture, Science, Arts, Education and Computer Sciences, so that each child is able to choose a faculty matching his or her own interests and capabilities.

He pointed out that the project received high acceptance in communities, pointing out that 34 universities participated in the program and more than 4,000 students were selected to participate in it.

He noted that children are encouraged to progress through the Children’s University certification scheme, based on their number of hours of attendance throughout their involvement with the Children’s University. Bronze, silver and gold certificates are awarded for students of each level.

“Honorary certificates can also be awarded for outstanding achievement and commitment.” He concluded.
