Japanese Foreign Minister (FM) Toshimitsu Motegi stressed on Monday that his country is keen to boost bilateral cooperation with Egypt in all fields.

In a joint press conference with his Egyptian Counterpart Sameh Shoukry, Motegi hailed the distinguished performance of the Egyptian champions who took part in the Tokyo Olympic Games 2021.

Moreover, the Japanese FM pointed out that Egypt is a 'major country' in the region, expressing his happiness to meet President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

It is worth mentioning that, Motegi is on a visit to Cairo, as part of a 10-day tour that includes 6 countries in the region, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

The Japanese FM is expected to discuss a number of security issues, and ways of confronting the “Covid-19” pandemic.
