Moroccan King Mohammed VI said that corruption hindered development in Africa

Addressing the 31st African Union summit in Nouakchott on Sunday evening, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, on behalf of the Moroccan king, called for mobilizing efforts and working together to eliminate corruption.

Fighting corruption is a key challenge to socio-economic development efforts and youth aspirations, he said.

He stressed the importance of unifying efforts at all levels to fight corruption.

The summit is held under the theme "Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation".
