Mona Zaki's "Cairo-Mecca" Filming Postponed

Egyptian actress, Mona Zaki decided to postpone the filming of her new movie "Cairo-Mecca" until the end of 2021, as she is currently busy with TV series “Takato Torok” (crossroads), which is scheduled to be screen in the Ramadan marathon.

"Cairo-Mecca" deals with many of the struggles of women in Egyptian society. The movie is written by Mohamed Ragaa, directed by Hani Khalifa, and produced by Mohamed Hefzy.

Then, she will begin filming the Arabic-language remake of the 2016 hit Italian movie "Perfect Strangers".

First announced in late 2018, the "Perfect Strangers" remake has been twice postponed due to both the coronavirus pandemic and political situation in Lebanon. The movie is now set to begin production in February.

The movie has been rewritten to set the story amid the coronavirus pandemic. It has been adapted by Gabriel Yammine and Wissam Smayra, the movie will be the latter's debut feature film.

It also stars Nadine Labaki, Adel Karam, Eyad Nassar, Diamand Bou Abboud, and others.

The plot takes place in Lebanon in the midst of the revolution and dealing with the coronavirus crisis, and centers around a group of seven friends who decide to play a game. The attendees place their cellphones on the table and agree to make all texts and calls become public. The game at first is a playful exercise, things get decidedly more serious as untold secrets public knowledge within the group.

Zaki was seen recently in movie "The Black Box".
