The rains that fell in Egypt and flooded the streets last month.. And the flooding in Venice this past week represent an alarm bell ringing to confirm once again that there must be studies, researches and scientists following what is happening .

The flooding in Venice is no longer just expectations and predictions .. We along with the region have become inside the circle of danger, scientists have repeatedly warned of the flooding while the authorities did not take the matter seriously, countries did not act collectively to discuss the issue of climate change and did not hold conferences.

As a result, the most famous beaches of the world 'Venice' was hit by the worst flooding when the water level rose above 90 centimeters due to the bad weather and strong winds; some ships were flooded while others collided with docks.

The historic St Mark's Basilica in Venice, and some tourist attractions were flooded.

Meanwhile, the city's mayor Luigi Brugnaro wrote on Twitter, “Venice is on its knees,” he confirmed that he would declare a state of disaster and warned of serious damage as the situation is tragic, while the cost will be high."

This scene pushes us to declare the state of preparedness in Egypt, this is what I pointed out to in my article on October 26. Climate change has become a reality, we have faced a great crisis weeks ago.

Before the beginning of winter season, temperatures in the summer reached 45 degrees Celsius and each winter we face increased rain, floods and snow in some areas.

Egypt is a Mediterranean sea state that has the same climate, scientists are frequently warning of the flooding of Delta, so we must take steps before it becomes too late and race against time to preserve our territory.

The melting of the icebergs in the Arctic and Antarctic has become more rapid, and the water levels in the seas and oceans are rising while Egypt is one of the first affected countries.

The question is how can we face these climate changes and how can we save the delta?.

The climate summit scheduled to be held next month in Spain is required to discuss what happened in Venice, to develop solutions to face climate change, and to help the countries that will be affected, such as Egypt.

America is required to reconsider its position regarding its withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last Monday said that this withdrawal came as a result of the unfair economic burden imposed by the agreement on the United States.

In my point of view, America's withdrawal is unfortunate. It gives up its responsibility towards the world, especially that it is one of the major industrialized countries that caused the catastrophe of climate change, whatever the cost it should bear the responsibility.
