Through a visually compelling video, the Ministry of International Cooperation released a short video to capture the Ministry’s progress in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2 minutes, summarizing the 2021 annual report, which was titled "Engaging for Impact Towards Our Common Future."

The video identifies the key activities and sectors that were prioritized during the year 2020 and summarizes them under four headlines: a people-powered economy, protecting our planet, future-proofing our economy, and regional and international partnerships.

The report also draws on the latest available data found in the Ministry’s ODA SDG mapping exercise and provides an overview of implementation efforts through highlighting areas of progress on each SDG.

The report also shares the impact of these development SDG projects on people through presenting various examples of real human stories, such as successful entrepreneurs in Egypt and the role of Egypt Ventures in fostering innovation.

It also digs into Egyptian measures to keep pace with the global race to combat climate change and transition towards a green economy, as well as Egypt’s preparations to organize the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention United Climate Change Center in Sharm El-Sheikh at the end of this year.

It also addresses the role of international partnerships in supporting the implementation of the presidential initiative "A Decent Life", which aims to accelerate inclusive growth and raise the standard of living of more than half of the Egyptian population.

In addition, the report addresses the state’s efforts to open up prospects for the private sector’s participation in development, which received $4.7 billion in development financing during 2020 and 2021 from international financial institutions, as well as the issuance of green bonds.

It also addresses the Ministry's efforts to update development cooperation strategies with many development partners for the next three to five years, namely the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank.
