In September 2019, the 31-year-old player revealed his injury, which kept him away from football for six months, saying it was “a Psychological injury.”

“I suffered an injury in my knee. My mother was ill, which left me down with none in my assistance,” Zakaria said.

“I will leave for a medical check-up in Germany to settle on the duration of the treatment,” Zakaria said.

Zakaria joined the Red Devils in 2015 from Enpy following his loan to Zamalek. He moved to the Saudi’s club Ohod Al-Medina on loan in January before terminating his contract with the club and returning to Cairo giants Al Ahly.
