Liverpool received insurances that the Iconic Egyptian star Mohamed Salah would not be used for propaganda targets, during the Reds' participation in the December's Club World Cup, to be held in Qatar.

"Liverpool have been told that Salah will be treated in the exact same way as his team-mates," Daily Mail reported.

The British newspaper also added that Salah was forced to attend a banquet hosted by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyro, during his participation with the Pharaohs' team in the 2018 World Cup, held in Russia.

"He was angered when forced to attend a banquet hosted by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov where he was granted 'honorary citizenship' during Egypt's training camp before the World Cup in Russia," the newspaper added. Noteworthy, Egypt cut off diplomatic relations with Qatar in 2017.

The Reds are set to take part in the 2019 Club World Cup for the first time since 2005 as they won the Uefa Champions League.
