Ministry of Finance: 29.6 billion pounds worth of cars and spare parts released in fiscal year 2017-2018

A statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Finance on the volume of cars released through the Customs Authority during the fiscal year 2017-2018, showed that the total release of passenger cars, transport and spare parts was 29 billion 687 million, 581 thousand and 11 Egyptian pounds.

The total taxes, customs duties, other fees and fines collected amounted to 9 billion, 916 million, 738 thousand and 409 pounds.

The customs clearance, under the supervision of the General Administration of Customs, headed by Mr. Mahmoud Mustafa, the director of the General Administration of the Customs of Cars in Alexandria, included 75318 thousand vehicles, "owners" of different sizes and models, valued at about 18 billion pounds.

The statement of the Ministry of Finance on the value of taxes and customs duties exempted under the European and Turkish partnership agreements and Agadir has approached the value of 5 billion pounds.

the statement also revealed that 6884 transport vehicles, microbes, motorcycles and tractors were released during the same fiscal year.

The taxes and fees collected amounted to 205 million pounds and the value added tax amounted to 753 million pounds, With total customs duties and taxes amounting to 957 million pounds.

The statement issued by the Ministry of Finance that the total taxes and customs duties exempted under the European and Turkish partnership agreements and Agadir for these vehicles during the same period amounted to about 459 million pounds.

During the same year, the General Administration of Automobile Customs in Alexandria released 7959 letters of spare parts worth about 7 Billion pounds, Taxes and customs duties amounted to 247 million pounds.

The value added tax of these messages was collected at 708 million pounds with a total of customs taxes, taxes and other fees amounting to 955 million pounds.

The taxes and customs duties exempted under the European, Turkish and Agadir partnership agreements on these letters amounted to 227 million pounds.

The total value added tax collected is 5 billion pounds, the total development fee is 731 million pounds, taxes, fees and other fines amounted to LBP 126 million.

On the other hand, the total customs duties exempted under the European Partnership Agreements, the Turkish Partnership and the Agadir Agreement during the last year 2017/2018 amounted to about 6 billion pounds.
