Ministers Council Approves State’s Award for Young Creators

Through implementing the directions of the President of the Republic, the Ministers Council approved creation of a new state award for "Young Creators" as well as amendment of some provisions of the Law of "the Intellectual property protection" for the youth.

The Minister of Culture: “The two laws aim to create a new generation of creators holding the banner of Egyptian civilization leadership.”

Based on the directions of the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Ministers Council, headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, approved on a draft law stipulating the creation of an award called "The State Prize for Young Creators".

The award would be given annually to anyone - not older than 18 years old - who presents an innovative intellectual product in the fields of culture and the arts.

In addition, the Council approved another draft law to amend some provisions of the Law of "the Intellectual Property Protection" - issued by Law No. 82 for 2002- that allows those who are under the age of 21 to register their works, performances, sound and radio recordings subject, with an affordable fee, in preparation for submitting their works to the Parliament.

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, thanked The Counselor Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice, for supporting the two laws derived from the state’s commitment to sponsoring the youth and encouraging them to present various creations in the fields of culture and arts.

Abdel Dayem added that this step is a new achievement to be added to the Egyptian achievements during the reign of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, embodying the constitutional law that gives the citizens the right to enhance culture.

The law will also allow citizens to enjoy the freedom of creativity in arts and literature, sponsor the creators and protect their production, provide the necessary means for encouraging young creators.

Furthermore, the minister said that the two draft laws aim to create a new generation of creators carrying the banner of Egyptian civilization leadership.
