Min. of Supply: Basic Commodities' Prices "Stable" Since 2019

Ahmed Kamal, spokesman for the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade revealed on Tuesday that the prices of basic commodities have stabilized since December 2019.

Kamal pointed out that the prices of basic commodities were reduced as of December 2019, noting that sugar prices dropped by EGP 1 to EGP 8.5 instead of EGP 9.5, while cooking oil decreased by EGP 2 to EGP 17 instead of EGP 19.

Also, the price of rice dropped from EGP 9 to EGP 8, and flour decreased by 25 pt. from EGP 6.75 to EGP 6.50.

On the crisis of the shortage of gas cylinders and the decline in weight, Ali Al-Moselhy, Minister of Supply stressed that this phenomenon usually occurs during the winter season, in addition to a hike in prices in many times.
