Ahmed Hossam Mido, former boss of Zamalek club, claimed that one of Al Ahly’s crucial players had been infected with the Corona virus, indicating that the Red Castle had not announced his name.
Mido said during “Odet El Lebs” program aired on “Al-Nahar” channel: “I have confirmed news from within Al Ahly camp that there is a very important key player who had tested positive for Corona virus.”
The former Zamalek striker added: “Al Ahly had kept this secret, and is waiting for Wednesday’s CAF PCR tests .”
And he continued: “I already know the player’s name, he is a key player within the team, but I cannot reveal his identity as long as the Red Castle have not announced it in an official statement and so that his family does not get anxious as well.”
The Red Devils are set to face Zamalek Friday in the CAF Champions League final.
