Mexico’s health ministry announced, on Monday, that the total number of Coronavirus deaths reached 67558.
The ministry added, in a statement, that 4614 new Coronavirus cases were recorded during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of cases to 634023. It noted that 232 new deaths were also reported.
It is worth mentioning that, Mexico’s deputy health minister said on Sunday that the government has ordered 1.1 million additional death certificates be printed as several parts of the country ran out and coronavirus cases continue to surge.
Speaking in a press conference, Hugo Lopez Gatell, the health official, said that some states, including Mexico state, ran out of death certificates.
Moreover, he added that authorities have been working for the past two to three weeks to redistribute them from areas with larger stocks.
Earlier, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has said that the government’s strategy to tackle the coronavirus was “very good.”
