Octavio said people on the Egyptian streets speak to him in Arabic thinking that he is Egyptian, and the two countries' love for arts and culture is obvious.

This supports different forms of cooperation that encouraged the embassy to support more than 30 international activities for the Egyptian Ministry of Culture for 3 years in various fields of arts, including the Cairo International Film Festival.

Mexico was the Festival's guest of honor during its last session in 2019, in which one of the Mexican films won the best film award.

Octavio said that he also remembers Egypt's victory in the Nations' Culture Festival during the first two rounds in 2016 and 2019 held in Mexico.

"We can not forget the pharaonic antiquities exhibition, which is still stuck in our minds although, it occurred 15 years ago."

The Mexican diplomat stressed that all these factors highlight the importance of Mexico to Egypt and the other way around, which is a close relationship that is important to continue and produce a lot.

It is known that these culturally methodical interactions between the two countries provide economic opportunities for creativity.

The diplomat expects, for example, that the artist Omar Khairat will achieve great success in Mexico, as well as, Yosra or Ahmed Helmy as a way of breaking the traditional opportunities for the originators of the two countries.

The Diplomat pointed out that the economic and trade movements should address art and culture since their success could become the main catalyst for relations between the two countries.

Mexico in the Egyptian eyes:

Ashraf Munir, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, stated that the Egyptian-Mexican relations have witnessed a great development over the past few years; this impacted on trade and investment cooperation remarkably, in addition to culture and art.

Munir added that: "We are looking forward to more, especially since we are about to hold the ninth political consultations session between the two countries at the end of September, to give a new and persified meaning to this cooperation.

This came during the celebration of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture with the National Day of Mexico, which was held at the Supreme Council of Culture at the Egyptian Opera House as part of a series of seminars approved by Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, the Egyptian Minister of Culture.

Abdel Dayem is expected to give a speech on international cultural relations.
