Mexico: Family of 7 Members Killed, Including Minor

Seven people from one family, including a minor, were killed in the town of Boca del Río, Veracruz state, Mexico, according to the Interior Ministry.

The press service of the ministry said in a statement, "A criminal case has been opened for the death of 7 people, 3 women and 4 men, including a minor."

Local media quoted residents of the town of Boca del Rio, that 7 members of one family were killed, and that the family owned butcher shops in the city.

According to government statistics, the number of premeditated murders in Mexico has decreased slightly in recent years, as nearly 11,000 such crimes were recorded in the last period of 2022.

The statistics noted that more than 65% of these crimes occurred in 9 separate states and that the reason behind these incidents was purely material.
