Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby denied on Sunday joining the cast of TV series "Between Al-Sama and Al-Ard", which will be screened in Ramadan 2021.

Multiple reports claimed that Shalaby joined the cast of the series and is set to recreate the role of Nahid Shahry, which was played by the Marilyn Monroe of the east, Hind Rostom in the original 1959 film.

“I am extremely honored, but the news is not true at all.” She tweeted on Twitter.

On September 6, Egyptian director Mandu El Adl announced on Facebook that Synergy Production Company is adapting Egyptian international writer Naguib Mahfouz's novel “Bayn El Samaa Wa El Ard” into a TV series, which he is set to direct.

The series is penned by Islam Hafez.

She showed a passion for acting from a very early age, no doubt due to the exposure to the industry her mother’s fame provided.

Shalaby made her film debut in “Al Saher” (The Magician) as Nour in 2001. She scored her next role alongside prominent actress Layla Elwy in the 2004 film “Baheb El Seema”.
