On Saturday, speculations related to Pelé's health sparked media headlines, and social media platforms after the legendary football player was admitted to palliative care.
It was reported that Pelé was no longer responding to chemotherapy before moving him to palliative care.
Therefore, the iconic football player's doctors released a statement to stop the latest speculations, according to New York Times.
The statement said that Pelé, 82 was in stable condition and had “a good response” to treatment for a respiratory infection adding that his health didn't worsen in the last 24 hours.
Previously, the Brazilian legend posted on Instagram a short statement related to his health, saying: “My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive."
He added: “I’m strong, with a lot of hope and I follow my treatment as usual.”
