Kylian Mbappe still feels that leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer just past would have been a logical step, but has said that the only club he wanted to leave the Parc des Princes for was Real Madrid.

The Frenchman was keen to leave PSG over the summer and Los Blancos made a late push for him on transfer deadline day, though nothing was agreed with Real Madrid and Mbappe's current club.

"If I had left this summer, it would only have been for Real Madrid," Mbappe told L'Equipe and RMC in an interview.

"I thought my adventure here was over. I wanted something else. I'd been in Ligue 1 for six or seven years, I'd given everything to Paris and had done well. That was my thought, leaving was the next logical step."
