Mayar Sherif Moves to Australian Open Main Draw

Female Egyptian Tennis player Mayar Sherif qualified to partake in the Australian Open tennis tournament after she ousted her Serbian competitor, Aleksandra Krunić, in the final round of the Australian Open qualifiers in Dubai.

Mayar beat her Serbian opponent on Wednesday by the score of 2-0 (6-1) , (6-2).

She had ousted Japanese Akiko Omae and American Grace Min in the first and second round of the qualifiers to move to the main draw of the Australian Open tennis tournament, the first Grand Slam tournament, for the first time in her history.

Egypt's Golden girl was victorious over Japanese Akiko Omae in the first round of the qualifiers, after winning the first set (6-0) and the second set (6-1), and then she overthrew the American Grace by score (6-3, 2-6, 6-1), after a marathon match that lasted nearly two hours.
