Egyptian underground band Massar Egbari is set to perform at the 30th edition of Salah El Din Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on Monday, August 15.
They will perform several of their popular and latest songs.
The concert will start at 10:00 PM (Cairo local time).
The festival will run from August 14 to 31, running for the first time for 18 consecutive days.
The concerts will be headlined by many prominent singers such as Omar Khairat, Mohamed Mohsen, Medhat Saleh, Hisham Abbas, Ali El Haggar, Nawal El Zoghbi, Hany Shaker, Nesma Mahgoub, Lena Chamamyan, among many others.
Confirmed acts also include bands Black Theama and Wust El-Balad.
The festival is organized by Cairo Opera House and is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Massar Egbari, which means “Compulsory Detour”, was founded in 2005 and consists of Ayman Massoud, Hany El Dakkak, Ahmed Hafez, Tamer Attallah, and Mahmoud Siam.
The band tackles social problems with their music and inserts a mix of Alternative Egyptian Music and blends rock, jazz, and blues with some Oriental music.
In 2011, The band was honored by UNESCO in Paris.
