In interview with SEE, He said that his program will include classical songs, first of which was written by late musician Mohammed Abdel Wahab and two others were written by musician Baligh Hamdi.

The two songs include ‘Tayer Ya Hawa’ and ‘Mata Ashofak’, which were originally performed by late popular singer Mohamed Rushdie.

He added that the audiences always prefer folk songs, which call for dancing and enjoying life.

Marwan also pointed out that he is taking part in the Arab Music Festival for the fifth time, adding, “I feel very happy when I perform a concert at the Cairo Opera House”. He went on to say that Egyptians also love the Lebanese songs, especially the classics of Ziad Rahbani. He also expressed his joy to have a large fan base of Egyptians who come and listen to my songs at the Opera House.

Khoury explained that he did not participate in the festival last year because of his preoccupation with the talent show Al-Zaman Al-Gamil "The Beautiful Time".

He added, “My participation in the talent show program gave me a chance to express myself more, pointing out that classical songs are the basis of Arab music and still engraved in the hearts of all audiences’ generations and can’t be forgotten.

As for his latest works, he said, “The audience became no longer interested in full albums, so I will tend to release single songs during the coming period.

He commented on the ongoing protests in Lebanon, saying, “The Lebanese people have the right to express their opinion, especially in light of the harsh economic situation”.

“I hope that what is happening in Lebanon will bear fruit and the results will reflect their hopes.” he said.
