The Egyptian Football Association on Monday announced that VfB Stuttgart forward Omar Marmoush has been ruled out of Egypt's squad ahead of the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers due to injury.
The 22-year-old forward was named in Carlos Queiroz’s Pharaohs squad for this month’s matches against Angola and Gabon in the final two games of round two of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Marmoush had a flying start to his international career, scoring a debut winner at home against Libya before assisting away from home in the game that finished in a 3-0 victory for Egypt.
Upon his return back to Germany, Marmoush had sustained an ankle injury, which forced him to miss his club’s last three games in the Bundesliga.
