Marine Le Pen, a French politician who ran for the presidency in 2012, 2017, and 2022, asserted that they must not deliver heavy tanks to Ukraine.

In an interview, Le Pen said: "No, I do not believe that it is necessary to deliver tanks to Ukraine."

She highlighted the risk of "internationalizing the conflict" and "moving away from a negotiated solution of peace."

On his part, French President Emmanuel Macron noted that “nothing has been ruled out” regarding the possible delivery of some of France’s powerful Leclerc battle tanks to the Ukrainian Army.

Macron set three conditions for sending French Leclerc tanks to Ukraine. The president underlined that the delivery of weapons must not cause an escalation of the war that could end up turning the Western allies into belligerents.

He also affirmed that it should provide “real and effective” help for Ukraine and not require too much training time. The last thing, it does not weaken France’s defensive capabilities.
