President of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour stressed on Wednesday that he would have attended his team's match in front of Tanta yesterday, in defiance to his suspension, had it not been for some of "personal tasks" which prevented him from attending.

Zamalek's President, also threatened that he could have submitted a letter to the International Football Association Federation "FIFA" to prove that the Egyptian Premier League competition for this season is void, according to Zamalek's official website.

Mansour explained that FIFA's regulations stipulate that "VAR" technology should be implemented from the beginning of the season, but the current 5-member committee applied the technology mid-season.

He continued: "We respect the state’s decision of continuing the league, but what was done by the 5-member committee is unacceptable and the pressure and frequency of the matches was huge, and after all this, it was announced that I will be punished by suspension from attending the matches."

The discipline and ethics committee of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) had fined Mansour on Monday 200,000 EGP, in addition to banning him from attending six games for the White Knights in any competitions run by the EFA.
