On Friday, a Qatari bid was confirmed for the iconic English club Machester United, a few hours before the deadline for receiving submissions.
The bid was proposed by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, according to a statement released by the Qatari Royalty.
He asserted in his statement that he intends to purchase the Old Trafford club and get the “former glories both on and off the pitch."
The statement also reads: "The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training centre, the stadium and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the Club supports."
He added: "The vision of the bid is for Manchester United Football Club to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world.
