Man Commits Suicide by Jumping Off Giza Pyramid

An Egyptian man committed suicide on Sunday after jumping off the Giza Pyramid.

According to preliminary investigations, the Egyptian guy was attending a party held at an archaeological area near the Giza Pyramids yesterday evening. After that he was spotted by security guards climbing the Pyramid of Khafre, asking him to descend to save his life, but he refused and went up till the top of the pyramid to commit suicide by jumping-off himself.

Security forces moved and detained the body of the deceased after investigating the scene. The prosecution has ordered the emergency to move the body to the morgue after hearing the witnesses’ statements.

Some people said that the man suffered a psychotic break triggered by problems with his family, which sparked his suicidal thoughts.

Egypt has always been listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to have the lowest suicide rate, at less than five suicides per 100,000 people.
