Malaysian Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said that today's meeting in Cairo is historic between Egypt and Malaysia at the level of bilateral relations.
In a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the Malaysian minister pointed out that in light of the global pandemic, the cooperation between the two countries must be strengthened, pointing out that there is a desire to explore areas of cooperation between the two countries during the coming period.
He stressed that it was agreed to hold the joint committee at the level of the foreign ministers, explaining that Malaysia wants to participate in mega projects in Egypt, which is the gateway to Africa.
He also thanked Egypt for vaccinating Malaysian students studying in Egypt.
The minister stressed the Egyptian role in the Palestinian issue is very important, praising the Egyptian mediation that succeeded in reaching the ceasefire in Gaza.
