Maj. Gen. Ashraf Attia: Aswan Surpasses Effects of Corona

Maj. Gen. Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, stated that his governorate was severely affected economically due to Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Maj. Attia added that the state, civil society and businessmen played a major role to alleviate the effects of the pandemic through their continuing contributions, so what happened in Aswan is a national, social and humanitarian epic that helped overcome the crisis successfully.

This came during the meeting of Aswan's governor with Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo (GUC) to sign a protocol of cooperation between the governorate and the university to implement the visual identity project and benefit from the university's expertise and its technical, technological and administrative capabilities in the fields of design and development to support the city of Aswan aesthetically and strategically.

The governor explained that the governorate has received very large contributions from businessmen and from solar energy projects to support the social solidarity account for the most affected families, as subsidies were given to irregular employment and all workers in the field of discontinued tourism and even horses and chariots were given constant assistance.

He continued to say that the truth is that all people's requests were answered, whether from the Council of Ministers or from civil society, and we were able to help to live safely. The governor revealed that the matter did not stop with one form of direct aid, but through the (Your Project) program of Local Development, so many were able to establish economic projects by financing EGP 2 million for each project.

He affirmed that most of the beneficiaries of this program were women who established projects inside homes and their achievement during Corona crisis exceeded what was before.

Maj. Attia praised the constructive and fruitful cooperation between Aswan, the Capital of African Youth and Culture and the German University to add the aesthetic touch and civilized appearance to the enchanting jewel of the Nile by creating a visual identity and a distinct character for the elements and products of the tourism system in Aswan. He pointed out that the role of this in achieving tourism promotion and marketing appropriate for the governorate as the most important destinations global tourism due to its uniqueness in the persity of tourist components and patterns such as archaeological, environmental, marketing, treatment and Nile tourism.

Aswan enables tourists to enjoy safari adventures and hunting, as well as conference and festivals tourism.

The governorate also possesses a huge stock of human and cultural creativity and perse cultural heritage, which reflects the spirit of originality and longstanding history.

The governor explained that Aswan is currently considered a title for the promising future of its achievements in the form of mega projects supported by the State and the Egyptian government with all force, including the largest civilized project to develop and beautify the old tourist market, the station square, and the Nile Dora Plaza, to become truly the capital of African youth and culture, as announced by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
