Mahrez Nets Twice as Algeria Crush Niger 6-1

Riyad Mahrez celebrated his inclusion in the 30 Ballon d'Or nominees on Friday by scoring two goals to lead Algeria to a 6-1 victory over Niger in the World Cup qualifiers.

The defending champion remained at the top of Group A ahead of Burkina Faso, with a difference of goals in a struggle between two teams to take first place and qualify for the final elimination round next March.

It also raised the Desert Foxes's undefeated run to 30 matches.

Mahrez's goal came from a free-kick as he converted a free-kick to break the deadlock in the 27th minute and give Algeria a 1-0 advantage in the first half.
