Madbouly Meets Tunisian President Kais Saied

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly is chairing the meeting of the Joint Higher Committee with his Tunisian counterpart Najla Bouden, and will meet with Tunisian President Kais Saied.

On Thursday, Madbouli, during his current visit to Tunisia, co-chaired the Egyptian-Tunisian Business Forum.

Madbouli, accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, arrived Thursday  at Carthage International Airport, in Tunisia.

During the visit, Madbouli is leading Egypt’s delegation at the 17th session of the Egyptian-Tunisian Higher Committee meetings, which kicked off yesterday and runs for two days.

Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden and Egypt’s Ambassador to Tunisia Ehab Fahmi came at the airport to receive the Egyptian premier along with his accompanying delegation.

Upon arrival, Madbouli voiced happiness for visiting Tunisia and heading Egypt’s delegation at the meetings, which aim to boost bilateral cooperation.

On her part, Boudan welcomed Madbouli on his first-ever visit to Tunisia, pointing out to Tunisia’s keenness on strengthening ties with Egypt.

The meetings are expected to include the signing of a handful of agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia.

 

Additionally, the Egyptian-Tunisian economic forum will be held on the sidelines of the higher committee meetings, and will focus on exchanging visions on investment prospects between Cairo and Tunis.

 

Egypt’s exports to Tunisia reached $223.3 million in 2021, down from $263.9 million and $613.8 million in 2020 and 2019 respectively. Egypt mainly exports clothing, food, and cleaning products.
