Madbouli: Egypt-UAE Work Teams Formed to Draft Energy Project Agreements

On Saturday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli held a meeting with Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Sherif El-Badawi, Egypt’s Ambassador to Abu Dhabi.

 

 

During the talks, Madbouli expressed his happiness with the growing momentum in Egyptian-Emirati relations at the bilateral level, as well as at the level of tripartite cooperation with Jordan, within the framework of the Integrated Industrial Partnership Initiative for sustainable economic development.

 

He added that the new and renewable energy sector is one of the promising areas of Egyptian-Emirati cooperation, especially in light of the increasing demand for clean energy and green hydrogen.

 

They also agreed to form working teams from Egypt and the UAE to formulate understandings and agreements on new and renewable energy projects that were discussed during the meeting.

 

In this context, the Prime Minister touched on two renewable energy projects, the first is related to generating 10,000 megawatts of wind energy in the Red Sea, while the second is for generating 200 gigawatts of solar and wind energy

 

On his part, Minister Sultan Al Jaber welcomed the UAE's cooperation with Egypt in the projects mentioned by the Prime Minister, stressing that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, always emphasizes that cooperation with Egypt is given special importance.
