Warner Bros. delayed the release date of “Furiosa,” George Miller’s prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road”, by a year.

The movie was initially set to open in theaters on June 23, 2023, but will now be released over the Memorial Day holiday weekend on May 24, 2024.

It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

The movie features Taylor-Joy in the title role first played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 movie.

Production on “Furiosa” is set to begin in New South Wales in 2022, which is expected to be the biggest movie to be filmed in Australia.
