The Elysee announced on Sunday that French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin have been in talks since 10:00 GMT to try to avoid a major war in Europe, amid Fears of the West from a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine.

French President Macron finally had a conversation Sunday with Vladimir Putin in a bid to avert a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Noteworthy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet with him and seek a solution to the crisis.

Mr Zelenskyy said at the Munich Security Conference, where he also met with US Vice President Kamala Harris, “I don’t know what the president of the Russian Federation wants, therefore I propose a meeting.”

Mr. Zelenskyy stated that Russia has the option of choosing the venue for the discussions.

“For the sake of a peaceful conclusion, Ukraine will continue to adopt exclusively the diplomatic path,” he stated.
