French President Emmanuel Macron considered his policy of maintaining dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin 'correct'.

"I consider it absolutely right to speak constantly with the President of Russia on behalf of France," Macron said in an interview to TF1 channel.

According to him, this is "necessary for building a new security architecture in Europe".

The French President stressed that Polish Prime Minister (PM) Mateusz Morawiecki's criticism of the French policy of dialogue with Russia are 'baseless and outrageous'.

"However, i was not surprised as Morawiecki is meddling with the French election campaign," Macron said.

"I have always been open to negotiations with Russia," he added, noting that the current talks with Putin are devoted to the situation in Ukraine and the ceasefire.
